Plants from the Woods and Forests of Chile

All these illustration in this gallery were prepared for the book ‘Plants from the Woods and Forests of Chile’ between 2007 and 2015. In these years, I took my place in such a big project by striking the roads between Chile, Scotland and Turkey, reaching the locations where the plants were, observing them, looking for their flowering time, waiting their fruit to become mature and revealing all of our skills to paint such beauties. The book, ‘Plants from the Woods and Forests of Chile’, has been published in 2015. This single volume of high quality botanical art depicts the rich diversity and beauty of Chile’s unique forested areas where for the last 25 years the Royal Botanic Garden has engaged in research and conversation initiatives. During this project, these illustrations were exhibited in different venues in Scotland, England and Chile and some of them awarded with ‘Gold medal’ and ‘Best in Sow’ in RHS, London Show at 2010 and 2014, as well as in BISCOT, Edinburgh Show at 2011 and 2013. All these illustrations are in the Edinburg Royal Botanic Garden’s permanent Collection. © Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh
