All these illustration in this gallery were prepared for the conservation project ‘蘭之魅 Lán Zhī Mèi – The Beauty of Orchids’ between 2015 – 2016. These are endangered orchid species in China and some even lost in their own habitat due to human activities – plant hunting. Through this project we aim to create greater awareness of the impact of buying wild orchids for their ornamental use with a series of exhibitions across China. Specimens were collected from the Nursery of ‘Xisuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden’ I have spent six months in this beautiful botanic garden to prepare first studies of these illustrations. After they are completed, all these illustrations were exited five different botanic gardens of China, Xishuangbanna, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Xiamen and finally Beijing in two months exhibition marathon. Original artworks are around the globe now in private collections.
